Good Friends, Good Ideas

I have a beautiful and wonderful friend who is the woman we all want to be.  Her house is always beautiful, her 3 year old child only eats organic food (except, of course, when she comes to my house) and she is always making or creating something that makes me think - How did she do that?  But my favorite thing about her is that she always listens when I talk to her and follows up with something that may help me.  If I mention in passing that I have a headache, she will show up the next day with a tea that is ideal for headaches.  If I say that I'm trying to find a great book, she will share a link for a free Kindle download.  So when I told her that my son loves to paint but I now have piles of construction paper paintings, she had a fantastic idea.  Here's the text she sent me:

Here is the result of Ryan's artwork:

Here is the quote my friend used on the print: “Mutual caring relationships require kindness and patience, tolerance, optimism, joy in the other's achievements, confidence in oneself, and the ability to give without undue thought of gain.”  Mister Rogers

I think, without even knowing it, she sent me a quote that encapsulates our friendship.  She makes me want to be an even better friend - I hope that she did that for you today, too.

How do your friends lift you up?  How can you do the same for them?
