Frozen Delight

I have a secret.  Anytime I bake something, I take half and I hide it in the freezer.  When the kids go to bed, I go to my stash and defrost a gooey brownie, soft chocolate chip cookie or, my favorite, a slice of oatmeal cake with cream cheese frosting.  I eat it slowly and enjoy the taste without the distraction of conversation, TV or even a book.  This is my tiny indulgence.

The next time you bake something for a bake sale or birthday party, take a little for yourself, too.  Hide it in the freezer for that moment where you need to be cradled in sweetness.
