Simple Abundance

Have you ever read Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach?  It's a day book that has a small story and call to action each day to keep designed to help you lead an authentic life.  I haven't read it since I was in college but something made me dust off the cover and revisit her comforting lessons.  Amazingly, it's right in line with where I am at in my life.

She's focusing on finding and using your authentic gifts and this quote struck a chord with me.

"Each time I write a book, every time I face that yellow pad, the challenge is so great.  I have written eleven books, but each time I think, "Uh, oh, they're going to find out now.  I've run a game on everybody and they're going to find me out."  - Maya Angelou

Do you ever feel like that?  Like people will figure out that you don't actually know what you are doing?  I am starting this blog and have dreams of writing books and speaking to crowds of people that want to make their families stronger.  But sometimes that dream feels so big that it gets overwhelming.  I start to talk myself out of making it happen.

Then on Sunday our sermon was about surrendering your talents to God and trusting the path he's set you on.  It's so tough to give up control.  But guess what?  That's exactly what I am going to try to do.  Every time I feel a nagging doubt, I will remind myself that this path has already been laid for me.  I am simply walking through each door God opens.  Maybe I will end up somewhere I didn't expect.  I can't wait to find out.

What dreams are waiting in your heart?
