Sick Mama

I have had a cold the last few days and I forgot how miserable it is to be sick.  My head is throbbing, my nose is running, and every bone is aching  AND there are still small children that need  things.  A lot of things.  Thank goodness for my amazing husband.

I woke up on Saturday, my usual day to wake up early with the kids, to find them eating at the breakfast table laughing with their daddy.  As soon as he saw me, he jumped up to get me some tea and told me to lie back down.  He soon had an arsenal of pills, syrups and cough drops to help me to feel better.  As if that wasn't enough, he put our youngest down for a nap and took our oldest to the grocery store so that I could get some much needed rest.

These gestures of kindness and love continued all through the day and, although I know I could have fought through it, I'm so glad I didn't have to.  Bringing me tea and medicine was better than any bouquet of roses or candlelit dinner.  I hope that my little boys noticed and will do the same for the women that they love someday.  I am so thankful for my husband.
